It is located in the heart of the city, is an important place where old but precious and traditional goods are on display. There is one main road in Insa-dong with alleys on each side. Within these alleys are galleries and traditional restaurants, teahouses, and cafes. Every Saturday from 14:00 to 22:00 and Sunday from 10:00 to 22:00, the main street is blocked off from traffic and it becomes a cultural space. Stores set up booths outside and Korean candy merchants and fortune teller stalls can easily be found; there are traditional performances and exhibits as well. Insa-dong is especially popular among international tourists. This is where they can experience and see traditional Korean culture firsthand, and also purchase pieces of fine art.
한국민속촌 (Korean Folk Village)
Korean Folk Village (KFV) is a village from the Joseon period composed of real houses relocated from provinces of the country. The village was created with common people’s houses and aristocrats’ houses relocated or restored from different parts of the country such as south, middle, north, and islands. It presents the real life from old Joseon life, which includes gwana (provincial government office), seowon and seodang (the educational institutions), hanyakbang (the medical institution), Buddhist temples and seonangdang (the religious buildings), and the fortune-teller’s place.
동락원 (Dong Nak Won)
Hanok Hotel Dong Nak Won is located in Jeonju. Jeonju Korean Traditional Wine Museum and Jeonju Hanok Living Experience Center are cultural highlights.
가우도 출렁다리 (Gaudo Shaky Bridge)
Gaudo Island is the only populated island of the eight islands in Gangjinman Bay. It used to be part of Daegu-myeon until 1789 but later changed to Boam-myeon and is currently part of Doam-myeon since 1914 due to reorganization of administration. The name comes from its appearance in relation to Boeunsan Mountain in Ganjin-eup, which looks like a cow’s head. The whole island resembles a cow’s meonge (멍에; curved stick around cow’s neck used to drag farming tool) so the island became to be called Gaudo Island (Ga: Meonge in Chinese characters).
목포케이블카 (Mokpo Marine Cable Car)
The slow city of Mokpo offers visitors an amazing view of the old downtown through Mokpo Marine Cable Car. With Bukhang Station and Gohado Island Station, the marine cable car has become a new top attractions in Mokpo.
산바다 ATV (Sanbada ATV Experience Center)
The Sanbada ATV Experience Center offers an exciting off-road acitivity with its ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) rides. The activity lets visitors experience the thrill of riding ATVs while enjoying the beautiful scenery in Jeju such as Sanbangsan Mountains and Yongmeori Beach.
